RMF IN ACTION:
SCHOLARSHIPS
RMF is by far the largest provider of music
scholarships in Berks County. Last year RMF
awarded
$47,305
in audition-based (“merit”) scholarships and
$34,779
in scholarships sensitive to financial need
(“need-based scholarships”) to students of all
ages, for music instruction, instrument upgrades
and music enrichment. Music scholarships are now
available on nearly every instrument, voice and
keyboard, to pre-college and college students,
in jazz, folk, ancient and classical music. New
programs send several dozen children to summer
music camp
each year.

SUPPORT OF LOCAL MUSIC PRESENTERS
RMF supports local music performance in three
ways – by direct financial support, by
encouraging the best governance practices, and
by finding solutions to problems, like audience
replenishment, that local music performing
organizations share. RMF’s grants for local
music performance totaled
$126,000
for the current fiscal year ending next June.
Business donors, in particular, consider RMF a
“one-stop-shop” with which to entrust their
budgets for community music performance. They
value RMF’s understanding of performing
organizations and the community’s artistic
needs.
