OPERATION REPLAY

Have an instrument to give?
Let us know!

Do you have a musical instrument in your closet, collecting dust?

If you do, we've got the perfect new home for it! Operation Replay is a program designed to provide good, used instruments to financially disadvantaged students who would like to participate in a community or school music program. Typically music programs can not provide instruments to interested students and financial restraints may make rental programs an impossibility. Operation Replay is designed to put an instrument in the hands of every future musician regardless of socio-economic challenges.

We know that children who receive music training typically improve academically across the board, with math showing specific and in some cases remarkable academic improvement.

Other theories suggest that music simply makes learning more enjoyable, resulting in improved attitudes toward school and education. Thanks to the assistance of corporate sponsors and people like you, underserved youth will have an opportunity to pursue their dream of playing an instrument. Used instruments can be dropped at one of several convenient sites throughout the area. After completing a donation tag (a donor recognition letter will follow), your instrument will begin its journey to a new home.

Each instrument will be thoroughly inspected, cleaned and repaired. The refurbished instruments will then be inventoried and stored, ready for adoption by a future musician.

How to Participate
The Reading Musical Foundation will take requests for instruments through music teachers. Instruments will be distributed based on financial need and the available inventory. There is no charge for the use of the instrument. If a student chooses to discontinue his/her music lessons, the only request is that the instrument be returned to the Reading Musical Foundation so that another student may participate in the program.

Students who participate in music programs enjoy the benefits of enhanced:
• Problem solving
• Teamwork
• Goal setting
• Self-expression
• Coordination
• Memory skills
• Concentration
• Poise
• Self-confidence

Operation Replay is a program sponsored by Zeswitz Music Store with the support of the Reading Eagle Company. The program is managed through the efforts of the Reading Musical Foundation.
