2, 2008 (unless otherwise noted)
Note: An arrangement of standard classical repertoire or the
performance of only one section of a work is not acceptable.
One movement of a work is acceptable.

Christman Balkcom Scholarship (Grades 1-6)
AWARDS:
Six awards are given annually, three for students in grades
1-3, three for students in grades 4-6
ELIGIBLE STUDENTS:
Students in grades 1-6 and attend Berks County
Schools or reside in Berks County
Students of acoustic piano
ADDITIONAL
INFORMATION:
An audition of no more than 5 minutes and memorization of at
least one selection of music
Students must present 2 different piano pieces of
contrasting style by 2 different composers
Ann W. Souders Piano
Scholarship (Grades 7-9)
AWARDS:
Three
awards are given annually
ELIGIBLE
STUDENTS:
Students in grades 7-9 who attend Berks
County Schools or reside in Berks County
Students of acoustic piano
ADDITIONAL
INFORMATION:
An audition of no more than 5 minutes and memorization of at
least one selection of music
Students must present two different piano pieces of
contrasting style by two different composers
Runyeon Piano Scholarship
Fund (Grades 7-9) - Solo Piano & Accompaniment
AWARDS: Two awards are given annually, one for solo
piano proficiency and one for proficiency in piano
accompaniment
ELIGIBLE
STUDENTS:
Students in grades 7-9 who attend Berks
County Schools and reside in Berks County
Students of acoustic piano
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Students may apply for EITHER the solo piano award or
the accompanist proficiency award, but not for both in one
year
An audition of no more than 5 minutes and memorization of at
least one selection of music
Students must present two different piano pieces of
contrasting style by two different composers
Runyeon Piano Scholarship
Fund (Grades 7-9) - Summer Camp
Need-Sensitive Award
AWARDS:
Multiple awards are given annually
ELIGIBLE
STUDENTS:
Students in grades 7-9 who attend Berks
County Schools and reside in Berks County
Students of acoustic piano
ADDITIONAL
INFORMATION:
No audition is required, RMF’s Scholarship
Committee will determine recipients based upon applications
& recommendations.
Teachers should mention any financial need in their
recommendation
Camp program will feature any combination of piano study
Deadline: May 2, 2008, decisions
are made by May 16, 2008

Scholarship (Grades 10-12)

more awards are given annually

Students in grades 10-12 who attend Berks
Co. Schools AND reside in Berks Co.
Students of acoustic piano or
organ study
ADDITIONAL
INFORMATION:
An audition of no more than 5 minutes and memorization of at
least one selection of music
Students must present two different piano pieces of
contrasting style by two different composers
