Quartner-Rita Quartner Herman String Scholarship (Grades
1-12)
AWARDS:
Three
awards are given in each of four divisions for a total of 12
awards
- Elementary (Grades 1-3) / Elementary (Grades 4-6)/
Middle/Junior HS (Grades 7-9) / Senior HS (Grades 10-12)
ELIGIBLE STUDENTS:
Students in grades 1-12 and attend Berks
County Schools or reside in
Berks County
Students of violin, viola, cello or
string bass
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
An audition of at least 5 minutes
Students must provide accompanist
NOTE: Teachers may accompany students
for this award, in grades 1-6 ONLY
Peter J. Brye Fund
(Grades 7-11) - For Cello and Harp
AWARDS:
One or more awards are given annually
ELIGIBLE STUDENTS:
Students in grades 7-11 and attend Berks
Co. Schools and reside in Berks County
Students of cello or harp
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
An audition of at least 5 minutes
Students must provide accompanist
NOTE: Teachers may not accompany
students for this award
Peter J. Brye Summer Camp
Music Program (Grades 7-11) - Summer Camp
Need Sensitive Award
AWARDS:
At least one need-sensitive award of $500 each is given
annually
ELIGIBLE STUDENTS:
Cellists or Harpists in grades 7-11 who
attend Berks County Schools and reside in Berks
County
Students who have already received this scholarship are
encouraged to re-apply
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
No audition is required, RMF’s Scholarship
Committee will determine recipients based upon applications
& recommendations.
Teachers should mention any financial need in their
recommendation
Camp program will feature any combination of orchestra
or chamber ensembles for cello or harp
Deadline: May 2, 2008, decisions
are made by May 16, 2008
James E. Fegley Summer
Camp Orchestral String Music Program (Grades 7-11) - Summer
Camp
Need Sensitive Award
AWARDS:
Two need-sensitive awards of $500 each are given annually
ELIGIBLE STUDENTS:
Orchestral string instrumentalists in grades
7-11 who attend Berks County Schools and reside in
Berks County
Students who have already received this scholarship are
encouraged to re-apply
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
No audition is required, RMF’s Scholarship
Committee will determine recipients based upon applications
& recommendations.
Teachers should mention any financial need in their
recommendation
Camp program will feature any combination of orchestra,
string ensemble, chamber music or jazz ensemble
Deadline: May 2, 2008, decisions
