STUDENT
RECOGNITION AWARDS
STUDENT BIO/RELEASE FORM
Each year the Reading Musical Foundation sponsors
four student recognition programs that reward
teamwork in the music classroom. Available to each
school district in Berks County and chosen by the
music department, monetary awards are made to
musicians exiting middle school, seniors,
accompanists and accomplished jazz musicians.
Esprit de Corps Award
Available to students exiting middle school,
this award was designed to reward those young
musicians who are a role model, aspire towards high
standards in musical performance or composition, are
team-players and gives back to his/her school or
community.
Outstanding High School Musician
Available to high school senior musicians, this
award follows along the same lines of the Esprit de
Corps award. The foundation expects that rarely will
this award be given to student whose only musical
attribute is virtuosity as a performer, or being
simply, "the best musician in the school."
Accompanist Award
Reliable, skillful keyboard accompanists are
essential to high school choral music programs.
Established in 2005, this award will be given to an
outstanding accompanist in each high school, chosen
by the music department.
"Project Penske" Jazz Musicianship Award
This award is given to one student in each school
district, junior high and high school musicians are
eligible. The student should display extraordinary
creativity as a performer or a composer of jazz. The
school district's music teachers will have to
collaborate to give this award.
If
you would like to see if your school district is
enrolled in RMF's Student Recognition Program,
please ask your music department chair.
